Today another smoothie. This time I put some healthy omega 3 rich flax seed meal in the smoothie.
Three years ago when I decided to change my life and I started to change my diet for first I found a lot of different types of diets, all claiming that there ones are the healthiest. I think they are all healthy it’s only that every single person has to find his or her own perfect diet.
So I started with the Budwig diet that is mainly based on flax seed and cottage cheese (originally quark which is found only in the northern and eastern countries of Europe as far as I know). It was not the right one for me as my belly was hurting all the time and digestion was better but still bad. Today I know it came because of the dairy, a lot of dairy. But the flax seed is still in my life, as flax seed oil. I found a lot of health benefits with it.
So today I used freshly grounded flax seeds for my banana and peach smoothie. As it was very dense and more a soup than a drink I put some water in until it had the right consistency for me to drink. A friend of mine came over and she had a smoothie with me sitting on the bench in the garden. She loved it and ask me to call her every time I make such yummy smoothies.
- 1 banana
- 1 peach
- 300 ml fresh water
- 1 tbsp flax seed (freshly grounded)
- 1 tsp fresh ginger
- Put all the ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth.
You can put less water into the smoothie for a more creamy consistency or more water for more liquid.
