Le Marche has a lot of festivals to offer, especially interesting during summer time. So I had the possibility to go to one of the events of Ville & Castella Festival.
It was the 19th edition of this festival which was held for the very first time in 1992. In the 2000th there was a short break of some years to start again in 2008 in a regular base.
The festival is held in very special places like old monasteries, agriculture residences or palaces in old mountain villages.
It is a festival of thoughts, music, tastes of the land and our hearts and heads flying with the clouds.
This year also ValdericArte was part of the festival and so I visited my friends twice with pleasure.
The small b&b normally having just 4 rooms to rent and place for not more than 30 people for dinner or lunch this time was expecting 80 people only for eating and many more for listening and watching the concert.
So I arrived a little earlier to help them and to start soon with the photos as I am doing the photo-tour during events when I am with them.
In the garden there were placed a lot of tables decorated with flowers and colorful cloths.
Meanwhile the kitchen was boiling with preparation the first huge group started to have a walk with Loretta Stella, a herb woman living as hermit in the mountains.
80 dishes were in preparation continuously, with colorful food like the pasta packages..
For serving there were some young folk helping as otherwise the family by their own would not do it. Me running around here and there to take photos – as well for documentation later for the b&b and to work on it, for me and for the official publication on their website.
After dinner the people started to take seat around the created arena in the front garden. A huge open space with some walnut tree and plum trees, a little river flowing aside and a bridge leading into the woods of ValdericArte.
Here a big screen was expecting, spot lights already on as darkness came quick at 9.30 pm. Microphones working and the concert could start.
The concert was by Francesco Burrai. He is a composer of Bologna not only dedicated to the music but also doing the whole presentation of the evening. Dancing girls, Burrai’s music in the background, some sketches as well, a singer and a poet.
The atmosphere was super great. Everywhere candles around, the night warm and cozy, crickets playing their songs together with the synthesizer, girls doing slow moves like a dance of another world.
Funny the sketches, incomprehensible (for me!) the poetry.
The concert and whole scenery was very modern (not really my preferred style), situated in a nearly unspoiled nature surrounding. The atmosphere wonderful as the candles created a special feeling, the warm air was beautiful.
It was a great experience, a wonderful evening and for sure I will try to be there next year as well!
