The Colors of Angels

There are a lot of people who have seen one or have been touched by one in a dangerous situation. Angels are spirits with a human body and light wings. They are of extraordinary beauty and often have a halo.

More than half of the people believe in angels but only 30% in global warming. That seems unbelievable to me. It’s the phenomena that we want to believe in something and in other things we won’t. Because one is nice, the other uncomfortable (my opinion).

The word angel comes from the Greek word ‘angelos’ which means ‘messenger’. An angel is the messenger between humans and God. But his role is also to protect people. If you want to study about angels then you study angelology – I didn’t even know that one can study angels!

There are angels in all main religions like Judaism, Christianity and Islam. There are some light differences of views but they are always messengers of God doing only what God says.

The highest in rank are the archangels. It’s said there are seven of them, but that varies. Michael, Gabriel and Raphael are always mentioned. Others known in the western and Christian mythology are Uriel, Saraqael, Remiel and Raguel. The names are sometimes written in another way, depends on the church.

Do you remember “Meet Joe Black” with Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins and Claire Forlani? Or “Constantine” starring Keanu Reeves, Tilda Swinton and Rachel Weisz? Or maybe “City of Angels” with Nicholas Cage and Meg Ryan? I have seen these a few times and many others as well. And I only recognize now how many movies have been done about angels.

Well, so I was pretty curious about this “ I Colori degli Angeli”(angels’ colors) – event at the b&b ValdericArte in the Marche. Guiding us to the angels there was Silvia Luckenbach who is a professional with the aura soma – healing with colors. 108 bottles of rainbow colored liquids (oil, water and essences from plants and minerals) will help to understand better the inner side of yourself, to distress and to find your deepest need.

Aura soma was born in 1984 by Vicky Wall, a nearly blind pharmacist. She was the seventh child of a seventh child. She said, angels where guiding her hands to prepare such beautiful mixtures. Since then people are attracted to these amazing colors in a bottle. What do you think? I was definitely VERY attracted to the colors, especially to the soft ones.

Silvia is such a nice woman, always smiling and giving a peaceful feeling to anyone near to her. Really amazing. She spoke to us in a soft voice, talking about angels around us, that everyone has his/her own protecting angel that gives strength and peace. The bottles with these beautiful colors are part of the healing with angels and colors.

She made a few sessions with us, relaxing as well and creating what the colors were inspiring anybody of us. Incredible forms, designs and colors came out by everyone’s art creation!

Lateron we wrote our wishes on a paper, let go a lantern and burnt the wish papers in order to let them free in the air and arrive to our angel. It was emotional!

After some time recollecting our thoughts and returning in this world we had dinner. A heavenly one I must say. They are such good cooks here! And I was fascinated by the angel rainbow cake so I asked the recipe. I put it in paleo of course!

Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C and grease a loaf pan or other form
  2. Whisk egg whites and salt until stiff, add sugar and cream tartar with a hand mixer.
  3. Scrap the vanilla bean half and add the vanilla, the almond flour and the bitter almond drops slowly by hand.
  4. Divide the fluffy dough into 4 different bowls and add to any one edible color. Mix slowly in. Now put one colored mixture after the other into the baking form. Remember that the cake will be upside down later, so start with the color you want on the top. Take a fork and mix carefully the dough to get the colors mixed up.
  5. Transfer into oven and bake it for half an hour. Have a look already after 25 minutes.
  6. Take the baking form out of the oven and turn it upside down on a cake dish. It will cool out and slowly set.
Recipe Notes

You like you can put some icing sugar or glaze. Or serve with some coconut cream. What do you think about ice cream? Or a chocolate glaze.

  1. Thank you Heidi, your way of writing carries me far away in fantasy. I would say: “I would like to go there!”
