Sunsets – What a Heavenly Moment

I think we all are the same opinion: a sunset is always a very particular moment. A special atmosphere, romantic, mystic, from another world. It’s easy to dream, alone, together with the person of your heart.

Unfortunately many persons don’t stop in the evening to watch out for the sunset. The hurry back from work, thinking about what to buy for dinner, what to cook, getting in time to the fitness center. And of course the many people living in a big city often simply can not see a sunset because of the big buildings taking away the view on some of the most magical moments of every day.

I normally have the opportunity to live in places full of nature, mainly at the sea-side and so I have a free view every evening to this miracle of nature.

And of course I can’t do anything: I have to shoot. Even with a ”50-cents”-camera you can get a great shot that looks amazing and will take a loud ‘wow’ out of every onlooker.

I think my most spectacular sunset I have seen in.. California. On the beach of Santa Barbara. I was there one early evening when suddenly the clouds came and bathing all in a light, mystery fog. The sun still shining but giving that kind of atmosphere that let you think: wow, this is another world.

Even the waters seemed different than 5 minutes before. Full of gold, liquid gold.

Classical the sunset with a sails boat, palms along the shore on the horizon, a seagull or pelican in the sky.

When I was in the great villa of friends of my friend in Santa Barbara I had the most astonishing view. All the town to my feet, the endless ocean, sailing boats everywhere in the bay and a feeling of enormous magnitude. Overwhelming my heart with gratitude to be here and feel a moment so breathtaking.

Very classical also the palm branch as a shadow in front of the yellow-golden sky.

Of course in all these photos there is nothing so special, even seen hundreds of time. But I think sunsets are always great to see – in nature and on a photo as well. My last photo is from Ischia I took on the Maronti beach in the south of the island. More silver and so different, the sun above the small island situated in front of Sant’Angelo.

I love all these photos, they are special and I know there will be a lot more.
