Sleeping in the Amman International Hotel

As we were booked twice to stay in Amman we had the very same hotel in the city. The Amman International Hotel is a 4-star hotel with all facilities one can require.

We arrived at 4.30 am with no one waiting for us at the airport in Amman. We managed thanks to the nice and helpful people there to arrive at 6 am in the hotel. A warm welcome by name, an immediately information about breakfast and so on, concierge for suitcases and of course our early arrival room. We paid an additional 20 € for it but was more than worth at that time!

The twin room has much space, a huge wardrobe, two king size beds and a whole front of windows for a lot of light. The windows open half and let in fresh air. The bathroom has a hairdryer, bathtube and bidet. Air condition available in the room.

The hotel has a breakfast gallery – called Oasis Terrace – looking over the small swimming pool in a closed courtyard (I think in summer heat no place to stay as there it is closed all around one storey high) and on the hill in the back of the hotel.

The Leonardo da Vinci on the ground floor is for dining. Cozy and nice with a great evening buffet.

We never tried the Rouge Bar and the Grand Lounge.

The surroundings of the hotel are not the most beautiful. And it’s not in the very city center. But that means it’s quiet as well. From the airport it’s nearly about one hour by car.

Personal experience:
I have checked in twice as I had a round trip through Jordan with a two nights stay in Petra in the middle. Both times the room was perfect for my friend’s and my own needs. Clean, much space, quiet. We never used the TV but a lot of English channels were available. I asked for tea facilities and 5 minutes later I had all.
For the last morning we asked a breackfast box as we had to leave around 5 o’clock. We got all we could eat: fruits, eggs and water because of our paleo diet.
People are extremly friendly, we always found enough to eat without flour, dairy and sugar and had never any problem.
Most important: Internet is free and available in rooms as well. A computer is in the hall for who has no own device.

I recommend:
If you have half board booked just go up the hill and then take the left and straight. You are circling around the hill behind the hotel and can see after a few meters on the right a small Coszmo. Here you find all daily needs. They speak only little English.
Take a taxi into city center. Its’ about ten minutes. Here you can explore history, shops and more. The huge City Mall is just on the other side of Amman. There is the biggest Cozmo and all kind of shops, restaurants, cinema, children’s playground and more.
Amman is full of sightseeing and historical places. Don’t miss the Roman theater, the citadel and the souq!
