Do you know that feeling to have a jones for something? You sit there at the computer, gazing at the screen and suddenly it is there: chocolate, I would like to have some chocolate now. After a few minutes: I need to eat some chocolate NOW. And then it is the moment you get up to have a look in the kitchen what to do against this longing for chocolate.
I had exactly that kind of ‘I can’t live anymore without’-feeling for mayonnaise. I desperately wanted to have something to eat with it. So I had a look if I had the ingredients at least for the mayo. I had. And I prepared my homemade mayonnaise immediately. I can tell… it was like heaven! I had too much of it of course. But couldn’t resist at all. No, I am not pregnant, I just had that longing for it that comes over me sometimes.. rarely, to my luck!
By the way my neighbor got a small glass of it and she said the next day that she is almost waiting for a next mayo-glass 😀
- Put all the ingredients in this order into a high, narrow pot. Take the hand-held blender and put it to the bottom, start on the highest velocity and go slowly up. Within a few seconds the mayonnaise is ready.
Garlic and curry are completely optional. But they make the mayonnaise even more delicious. You can try to add any other spice or taste you like to the basic recipe of the mayonnaise.
You can eat the mayonnaise with potato chips (if you eat them) or instead with sweet potato chips. Try the mayonnaise with any kind of meat or vegetables chopped in small pieces.
You can store the mayonnaise in the fridge or cool place without any problem for several days but never as long as the conventional mayonnaise bought in the supermarket.
