Agritourism La Pisana Just Outside of Pisa’s Walls

This is a place for people who want urban life and a peaceful surrounding the same time.

Colignolo is just out of Pisa although the location is part of San Giuliano Terme. La Pisana is a busy working place in summer and booking in advance is recommended.

The holiday farm has a spacey parking place and a meadow with a playground for children. It has one main house with the rooms on ground flour and first flour. The little breakfast room on the ground flour offers just breakfast with coffee of all kinds, tea, hot chocolate (all self service at a machine), a few kinds of sweet cakes (homemade), corn flakes and milk and juice (out of a machine). Every room has its table.

The hotel is situated just off the busy main street. The driveway is a little bit tricky and driving very slowly is recommended.

Just 10 minutes from the center of Pisa and nearby there is a big Carrefour for shopping. Nearby the holiday farm there is a tiny lake for fishing. The agritourism offers mountain bikes for cycling along the river Arno.

Personal experience:
I stayed from 8th to 10th April 2014 and had a double as single. I loved especially the tranquility of the place, great hiking possibilities and the 10 minutes drive into Pisa center. The room itself had a typical country-style and the double bed had a small baldaquin which gave me the feeling of a princess. The owners were very friendly and talkative.
The small breakfast room was always empty and I took just a coffee without sitting. I didn’t like it too much there.

I recommend:
Of course to go to Pisa. Take a bike and cycle along the Arno river into town. Best way to avoid traffic jam and parking stress (with high costs). Lucca is only a 20 minutes drive from Pisa and don’t miss the Borgo a Mozzano with the Devil’s bridge! Go to San Gimignano, Siena (cathedral!) and to the Puccini lake. Hiking from the holiday farm is great as well, take a right turn immediately out of the farm yard.
